    Question for Taser Owners

I just received my Taser C2 today. I purchased the gold kit from grabagun since they had the lowest price I've found and I had good experience buying firearms and firearms accessories from them in the past.

Well I just opened up the packaged tonight and I was suprised to see a note saying the taser was "shipped in an active state." From all the research I've done I thought I had to do a background check on the Taser website before they send me a activation code. I know they have gotten rid of the background check fee this year but I didn't think they would be shipping Tasers pre-activated.

Well I am planning on calling Taser after work tomorrow (since I go to work early and am not allowed to make personal calls) to figure out whats going on. But does anybody here have any insight regarding this matter?

AFAIK they are shipped non-operable and need to be activated on-line with Taser. This check is all over the net, and is quickly done. The Tasers have identifier tags which get spit out when the unit is shot, and those are traced back to an individual unit through the registration.

IIRC when we got our Gold kit, there was something in the instructions which specified which lights would light or how they would flash pre- and post-activation. Check your instructions and unit to what state it is in. Pre-activation you can still make it "ready to fire" but it won't fire until activated.
