Heated Argument With Co-Worker

So talking about what might be banned in Kommifornia, my coworker says, it doesn't matter I''ll just go buy in another state where it is legal and bring it back to California.
Uuhhh, is what I said. You can't do that. If it's banned, it can't be in CA. Just like you can't have a mag with more than 10 rounds in a mag.
His argument is if your a resident of that state, where it legal to buy a 30 round mag, and your also a resident of CA, you can bring that 30 round mag assembled and can be used legally.
Told him your wrong. Anything banned. more than 10 rounds, full auto, etc., are banned and can't be in CA.
He got mad, said I know the laws I use to work in a outdoor range, and I read a book on laws, he walked away saying whatever.

well you are wrong on the 10 round+ part. i have a crap load of mags that hold more then 10 rounds in CA that are 100% legal. there is no crime against having standard cap mags in CA, the part that can get you in trouble is how you got them and when.

But he is dead wrong on buying in another state and just bringing him back. i say let him do it and be used as a test case.....
