You could do what my uncle does with his garage safe- toss a carpet over it- it actually blends very well

What I did, I bought an Armour to place the Safe inside of it.. I was not too concerned of it being in the open, but the "Boss" did not like it so I had to spend the extra money on getting the Armour, pluse it makes the living room look better (Says the Boss)...

I really try to place the safe where it cant easily be seen...
Put a good sized Cannon safe (costco) in the closet and bolted it to the floor.
          Out of sight...out of mind.

Eh, don't worry too much about people "knowing" you're a gun owner. Most people won't even realize what the safe is, or what it's for.

I think your "This is my peace sign" bumper sticker kind of gave it away anyhow...

Never thought about the bumper sticker
Lord, make my hand fast and accurate.
Let my aim be true and my hand faster
than those who would seek to destroy me.
Grant me victory over my foes and those who wish to do harm to me and mine.
Let not my last thought be 'If I only had my gun."
And Lord, if today is truly the day you call me home, let me die in an empty pile of brass.

My wifes friends and family KNOW its a sore subject with me. they tired to explain why guns are bad and hunting is bad etc but I didnt care. Still dont. after inviting them to leave a few times they finally shut up about it. I told them why do you drive a huge *** gas guzzling SUV ot why do you need a 90 k BMW?. you dont really need it. Why do you live in that huge *** house. you dont really need it. My wife doesnt like guns but she knows I will always have them. I told her after i die she can do whatever she wants with the guns. until then there will always be a gun in my house.

Mine's in a corner of my living room behind a shoji screen. It actually kind of blends in. Unless you knew what was behind it, you wouldn't think there was a safe there. . .

Solidsnake and I had a similar problem when he got his safe.

We ended up hiding it. Im sure there is a nook/cranny in your house that is easily accessible but hidden from sight.

I wish we could show pictures of what we did with solid's safe. But he doesnt want people to know where it is. Oh well, its really clever too.

I kept the box that my safe came in and have it permanently around my safe so it isn't as obvious.

Mine is in my living room, next to the tv. It is the only ground level room in the house (converted garage) and I am not up for hauling a 650lb safe up the stairs.

The only people that come over my house (including the landlord) already know I had a bunch of guns (before the boating accident). Now it just holds my airsoft collection and my girlfriends beanie babies.

If a burglar is in the house and has the time and the tools to get in it, they would have found it anyway if it was hidden in a closet. If the cops come over with a signed warrant, they will find it too, so who should I be hiding it from?
