    Affordable Otis Patch alternative?

Hello everyone, I have the Otis gun cleaning kit and being new to guns in general looked around to see if I could find gun cleaning patches, looking at the otis you get 100 patches for about $8, other (square) patches for the same price are 5x's the amount it seems though so I started looking for alternatives and found this website:

AR-15/M-16 AR Style .308 Gun Cleaning Kit. Everything needed to clean & maintain rifles, pistols, shotguns for optimal performance & reliability. American Made.

My question is though, has anyone tried these? What are people's thoughts? Are they even comparable to the Otis patches? I like the tight fit of the Otis patches when cleaning my .22.

Last night I used the square patches that came with another kit I got for my 30-06 and the patch feels loose inside the barrel which utterly confused me since I thought 30-06 was larger than .22 but found it strange the patches seem to be smaller than the .22's.

I use old towels for general cleaning, and make my own patchs with my old t-shirts, but also have 1k patch bag (2.5 x 2.5) i got from ammo brothers a few years back. More then patches i use q-tips, lots and lots of q-tips

Aren't you worried about it coming apart inside there?

I personally really like the Otis cleaning system. I've never used anything fancier though, so I my opinion doesn't mean much. (Just boresnakes up until then.)

I'm not sure if other patches would be compatible with the Otis system though...I'm no expert, but I'd much rather just use the slotted Otis patches. As long as you attach them to the slotted tip correctly they are really solid and definitely give a full 360 degree cleaning. (You can use each patch six times, which helps even out the cost a little.) I don't go shooting a whole lot, so 100 Otis patches would probably last me and my guns several years.

just cut squares out of an old t-shirt and punch a small hole 2/3 way to one side, and tie them on the slot just like your otis patches.
If you need help with any stragglers, call a friend, because it's likely that they have a gun. America in particular have done exceptionally well taking care of the problem, as there are 1.12 guns for every 1 American citizen. So throw a rock, you'll probably hit a gun, pick up that gun, then shoot a zombie.
