Lubriplate for firearms. Is it good?

I have been doing a lot of reading on lubricants for firearms use. I came across this write up the other day.
    http://www.grantcunningham.com/lubricants101.html.

Seems like a pretty sound article. So was thinking of ordering Lubriplate grease and getting The FMO-350-AW Spray. Everything I have read states its great against the elements and other Corrosives. Wanted to see if anyone else uses this stuff and what they think. It says in the article to get the oil you have to buy it in large quantities. I found it in a spray can and sold by the can.

"Every" M1 Garand in WWII had a little pot of Lubriplate in the butt-stock.

      Good stuff.

I use lubriplate 630-AA on my mini14 and handgun rails. One tube from ebay will last me probably 10 years.

It has been used for many years and for good reason. Also good for auto/trucks/equipment work.

I have been using it exclusively since I got it. You couldn't go wrong. Both grease and oil are very good. Go to lubrikit.com if you don't want to buy a ton.

I use their spray oil and their grease on all my firearms with excellent results. The only time I wouldn't use the stuff is if you lived in Yuma or similar desert environs. It could attract sand and grit since it doesn't evaporate over time like many solvent based gun oils. But that same coating will prevent any corrosion.

I just started using wheel bearing grease. Seems darn good. As for an all around coating, can't day from experience. Does it compare to Froglube at all?

So I just talked to a very nice lady named Brandy at WBC Industrial. link# https://wbcindustrial.com/1-12oz-spr...de-mineral-oil.
They sell the FMO-350-AW sparay by the can. I ordered two cans. Shipping was 70 cents difference so why not. If anyone is interested in trying this stuff let me know. Only need one can. Will sell for what I paid for it.

Now have to find out the difference between 130A grease and 130AA. She looked it up but Lubriplates info she was looking at didnt say much. Just a sub note on the 130AA that it was good for rifles also.

WBC is in Colorado ,ship same day if its in stock and if they get the order by 3:00pm their time.

130-A stands up the heat a little better, 130-AA penetrates better.

Thank you for the info. I called Lubriplate today and ordered the SFL#0 in a 14oz can. They said it was better for my application.

                              abulldog4me,

Lubriplate is an excellent grease to use for firearms. It's much cheaper than to buy in a can from your local auto parts store and for the price it'll last an extremly long time. For using it as an anti-corrosion against the elements perhaps they have other products other than the grease.
