Stopped by a Big 5 today

and it almost seemed like pre December 2012. The long arm rack was full of rifles and shotguns (but no ARs, Mini 14s, or .22 semi auto rifles) and the ammo shelves were fully stocked except for .22s, .223, and budget 12ga shotgun rounds. About 5 short barreled shotguns both pump and semi auto, lots of hunting rifles and shotguns, and two Rossi lever rifles. The kid at the counter said that their inventory was slowly coming back to normal.

Of course they could have been cleaned out two hours after I was there!

The gun buying frenzy has slowed down but the ammo frenzy has no end in sight.

With no AR's or Mini's available, I would only say the frenzy is on hold.

There's plenty out there, people are just asking insane amounts of money for them.

I used to think big 5s ammo prices were high, but now I gladly pay them. I was able to get some Remington match .22lr for $6 a box. Now if only they could get some brass 7.62x39 ammo.

I'm headed to Tuscaloosa for a business trip. But I think my boss just sent me to look for 9mm, .40s&w, and .223/5.56. I'll report what I find.

I invited a friend to teach to shoot, they went to Big 5 to grab ammo to help out (I told them not to) - they paid ~$90 for about 80 rounds of ammo

I would not Celebrate Yet AT ALL.......bcuz diFi and her gang already announced they are going to be pushing for full confiscation of semiauto rifles and handguns. And since there are sooo many democraps in office now it doesn't look to good. They are going to follow ny's confiscation bill.

It's life, they're late to the game and want to shoot so they gotta pay the high cost. Hopefully they have learned and will be stocking up for themselves.

Stopped by Big5 today out of boredom. Gun rack was full, nothing EBR looking. Ammo shelf was half empty except for birdshot and expensive "hunting" ammo, and a couple uncommon calibers(overpriced like usual for Big5).

Oddly enough the thing that I noticed they had an abundance of, was a ton of those orange self healing targets that bounce around when you shoot 'em. It's been a few months since I've been to a Big5 and hadn't seen them there before, but they had a whole floor standing display full of the things between the knife counter and the fishing stuff.

They can try but there will be an injunction before the ink dries on the bill.
