Angeles shooting range sucks

today I was at ASR, after shooting i always pick up my brass, there was fellow next to me shooting, he was not collecting his brass,I asked him if i can have his brass, he said sure no problem,then few range employees told me I can only collect my brass that it was liability issue,what BS is this,hate those a--s h--s

Brass collecting policy might suck, but its still a good outdoor range.

You can just have the dude pick his own up and then give it to you. There are one or two ROs there that police like that, but most are cool.

My buddies and I hate public ranges, we always drive out to the boonies/BLM. Way worth it and much more fun/private.

Wow. Guess I've been lucky, I haven't run into this problem yet. Man, now I'm gonna be paranoid next time someone lets me have their brass.

Still think it's a very good range though.

Angeles Range is a very regulated range. I used to go there before I found Burro Canyon. I always felt a little violated with all the range bag checks and magnets over all my ammo. Strange that crack head Sally would work at check in.

Anyway, I guess if you're the kind of shooter who presses his pants and wears a fine shooting jacket whilst you zero your fine hunting rifle, then you'll appreciate the efforts of the range officers.

I am glad Angeles exists and is in business and I am happy that many enjoy the place but I personally don't find it a pleasent place to shoot. I haven't been there since '05 but when I was there last the range officers were obnoxious; the main guy running the rifle line was channeling a bad imitation of the guy from Mail Call and the kids checking the shooters on the line spent much of their time bad mouthing him and the customers. I didn't need to pay to here the shooters getting yelled at over the P.A. system and have some kid rummaging through my shooting bag without even the courtesy to ask. The girl in the office was so busy flirting with another employee I couldn't get her to take my money so I could go shoot. I was so very glad when APTS opened back up again after the road to the range was rebuilt. I'm sure Angeles didn't miss me when I stopped going but I am glad that there are other options for ranges here in L.A. county.

I do like their reloading store though.

I have not had a problem with the staff at Angeles.

The only person there who seems to be a hardass is the fat white guy who usually runs the pistol line. Everybody else has been really cool to deal with.

I pick up all my own brass, my friends' brass, my shotshells, and anybody around me who gives them to me. Never had an issue.

ASR works for me. As with any other venue, your experience will be based on which employee is working. Personally, I've never been given a second look while collecting brass, be it my own or a neighbor that didn't want theirs.

On the pistol line, the RO's will collect your brass while you're back is turned shooting, so keep an eye out.

You speak truth. I had the same observation of the line in the office going out the door because some of the guys keep talking to the girls.

It can be the best range in California, but if the staff and their policies suck, no one will go there. Then it will be their loss.

Angeles Range is an over regulated range. I used to go there before I found Burro Canyon.
