    Clean up, isle 10...

I know some of you are anti arfcom, but can anyone hand this guys arse to him in the Armalite forum? I know there are many members here who are much more informed and more articulate than I.

At the same time, lets show a little support for Armalite even though they are late to the game if they decide to play.

Here is a c&p of what he wrote:

Perhaps it's time for the gun owners in CA to realize that soon there will be NO legal firearms in CA and fight to STOP the rounds of current legislation and repeal the stupid crap from the past 20 years.

What are you going to do for ammo after 2010? No one is gearing up to make CA compliant ammunition, and by law you will have to dispose of all your existing ammunition and components. I hope the ammo manufacturers DON'T switch over to CA-compliant ammo production. It's asinine to think that the other FREE 49 48 47 46 states should subsidize your insanity by having to pay dollars per round of ammunition because Nanny-CA said so.

The problem here is NOT the manufacturers failing to re-gear products just for you folks, the problem is you folks are not re-gearing your state govt and continuing to elect more of the same morons that which currently represent you. Us free-states haven't heard of any marches, rebellions, or any of the like... so we're guessing you guys are comfortable with the status quo there in CA and agree with your representatives.

Armalite, following the policy of Barrett and STI (possibly/hopefully more) regarding CA is a respectable thing to do.

Its easy for non-CA people to bash the gun owners there who DO try hard and probably spend MORE time and energy fighting their government than most people. CA has million of messed up laws in every direction that people hate, but the politicians keep getting re-elected. its amazing.

Telling CA people to stand up and fight MORE is like not buying gasoline for the next year to protest the high cost. Nice idea, but it aint gonna happen.

Can't say I disagree with the guy. Last night I felt like smashing my laptop against the wall after reading about all the new bills (ammunition permit, fingerprint scanner on the guns (!), etc.). The fact that last year's stupid crap got signed into laws (microstamping, lead ammo ban), i.e bills that everyone thought the governator would never sign makes me think that the new bills actually have a chance. The biggest problem is that we have a-holes like Feur and DeLeon who are introducing bills like these without being recalled and without any fear of losing their cushy taxpayer-subsidized gigs. Can you imagine what would happen to these pieces of **** if they tried to introduce bills like these in Arizona or Nevada? While Arizona gunowners are fighting to allow CCW on college campuses, we have to defend the ability to buy ammo and receive training without being subjected to criminal background checks. I'm sorry, but I'm not sticking around anymore.

This will never happen, but how funny would it be if gun manufacturers started to refuse to sell to law enforcement in CA.?

I saw the recent Shooting USA episode where the host Jim Scoutten was showing a full featured Armalite AR rifle and mentioned that they're legal in all 50 states (paraphrasing) "... which comes as good news to those viewers in restricted states". I thought, 'Well, not THAT particular rifle anyway'.

It's true that Armalite doesn't have a CA-compliant version from the factory, but if I'm not mistaken the rifle could indeed be modified to meet the code. Maybe Shooting USA's comments are welcome on two levels: They're aware of OLLs and CA-compliant ARs, and they got the message out to folks in CA that may be unaware of their opportunities.

In that view, why does the out of state poster on AR15.com get his panties in a knot? Moreover, why go over there to engage them? Those who know, know. Those who don't, don't. Time is better spent educating the CA gun owning public about their options rather than snipe back and forth with some random poster from Arkansas.

... Besides, anyone from Arkansas ought to be the last ones talking about 'electing anti-gun morons'.

God forgive me but I couldn't let that one lie. It's bad enough to have to listen to someone locally bemoaning our state of affairs. But someone from Pig's Knuckle, Arkansas doing the same thing, I just can't let it go unchallenged. I think I need to go lay down for a bit.

Yes. My fears exactly. The legislature and the govenor have lost all touch with reality, and I bet all the crap they propose will get signed into law.

                  All,

Uninformed outsiders need to be beat on. However, who wants to bet that these restrictions will have the same swiss cheese that the "AW Ban" does?

Also, we wouldn't have microstamping if it wasn't for own goal...

Things have already changed - having the Legislature make more clear their goal of disarmament is a brier patch we may want to be tossed into.

Hahaha, we all have to get rid of our ammo and reloading components in 2010? What a moron, he didn't even bother to read the law, or understand what "microstamping" is.

That was a really good response, Ft. Courage. Too bad he simply ignored it...
