The squirrels in my yard were making me really mad and I just couldn't take them teasing me anymore. So I took a trip down to my local Big 5 and started DROSing a new Ruger 10/22. While waiting for my 10 days to be up so I could blast those little vermin away I realised how cute and cuddly they really were. Why would I want to kill such adorable little fluffy squirrels?!




Then I discovered Taxidermy!

And unless I'm misreading the fish and game code, those cute little buggers may only be taken (with a hunting license) in the proper season, and in terms of boomsticks only with a shotgun (shot smaller than BB) or air gun.

And... only in the proper county! No squirrel hunting in SoCali!

If you contemplate it for a moment it actually makes sense why they wouldn't want you to shoot UP into a tree for a squirrel with a rifle.

I've found that some hunting laws actually do make sense.
