    Shooting Gloves?

I've been looking for a pair of gloves to use while shooting, mainly because my P7 gets rather excruciatingly hot after like 12 mags... I'm considering taking a handgun class at Reed's eventually and watching those classes from the outside, I have a feeling that I'm going to need something to protect my hands...

Any suggestions for glove brands and where I can get them in the East/South bay?

Mechanix gloves, or whatever they're called, that you can get from auto parts stores work just about as good as any Hatch, Oakley, or other "shooting" gloves. If you think you'll need the dexterity, you could use nomex/thin leather flight gloves. Even batting gloves will work.

I use mechanix gloves and i like um alot real durable and they fit real tight which i like. i use them for 3 gun and what not. some of my guns felt a little slippery because it was just smooth plastic you could either add grip tape to the gun or put some dabs of hot glue or something like that on the gloves.....

I have been happy with Bob Allen shooting gloves.

I have the Calfskin uninsulated and the ventilated "Shotgunner" gloves. I mainly use them for shooting shotguns but they work fine for handguns too. I have a P7M8 and I think the leather would be a better choice.

There was a thread awhile back and some guys use batting gloves. Mechanix or Craftsman work for me.

+1... I like batting gloves because they are very thin and tight...

I like the Original Mechanix gloves. I keep a pair in my range bag, tool box, and truck.

I use these CLC: Pro Framing Gloves I picked up from Home Depot. I like them because of the fingerless index finger, so it doesn't get bunched up in certain triggers and also keeps finger sensitivity. I remember them being much cheaper at the actual store. I've also used batting gloves w/ the finger cut out.

I buy those Atlas blue grippy gloves for construction workers by the bag. For shooting I cut the trigger finger back. I can't believe more shooters don't use these. I buy them a size too small for a really tight fit. Recoil reduction and superb grip with a breathable backhand--what's not to like? However, no gloves when shooting precision rifle is my style.
