Thumbs down to Center Mass in Vacaville

I drove 45 minutes to be at CM when they opened to perform 2 PPT's as I was trading guns. In the past I've been happy with the staff and general overall treatment while there. Consequently I buy cleaning supplies, a locking pistol box, and a handgun. I even ran into the manager at a local restaraunt and he recognized me, we had a friendly chat.

Today I walked in and there was a young woman who, by all appearances, seemed nice until I mentioned the PPT's. She immediately copped an attitude and told me in a very stern voice that they work on appointment only. I told her I had two and she said that it will take up two appointment slots each one hour apart!

Looking at the DROS/PPT schedule with her, it was completely empty except for one at 11am. I explained that I had been there to do business before and that I had driven in from Sacramento. While I was waiting for the other guy she began to help someone else.

I re entered and there was a man behind the counter so I began the process of making the two appointments. The woman interupted both myself and the other employee so neither one of us could communicate. She was prattling on about the schedules and how I had two etc.

What I did not appreciate was that she was disrespectful, short and rude. There is absolutely no reason to act in this manner. Additionally she interfered with myself and the other counter person when all I wanted to do was make the appointments that she was forcing me to make. Since I could not say more than 2 word at a time before she butted in I became very angry and left. In doing so I told her off in colorful language, my bad.

I can tell you beyond a reasonable but that I will never darken their door again. I am a business owner and If one of my employees treated a customer this way they'd be immediately terminated.

You previously had good experiences there. I have, too. I've done a couple smooth and pleasant PPTs there. I'd bring it up with more senior employees rather than condemn the place for the bad attitude of one employee.

I too just did a PPT there as I use that location when buying from people in the bay area as a halfway point. Luckily I called CM first and I was told that the upcoming Sunday was going to be the last of the PPT for the public and PPT was going to be for members only. Upon picking up my new AK 10 days later, they told me they had changed the members only deal and PPT were going to be by appt only. Pretty stupid if you ask me, but I refuse to go to guns fishing and other stuff with all the issues I have had with them. So for now on, I'll just have to schedule an appt at Center mass. I bet with gun sales right now they were just overwhelmed with PPT as I know my last one took over an hour and a half do to people completing PPT in front of me.

I understand and I will talk to the manager. However the degree of disrespect I was exposed to is unforgivable. As I said in my original post, I'd fire an employee immediately for that behaviour, and I have in the past. This person must be associated with the owner in some way. The level of arrogance was mind boggling.

Hispanic hercules - I hear ya but they were otherwise EMPTY at that time. Cordelia Gun Exchange was jammed with people and was happily taking care of everyone...

If they sell guns they have to do PPT's. Member or not.

Isn't this the store that reported its own customers to the DOJ?

^ Nope, see ChaneRZ's sig line in post 3 for the answer.
I'm retired. That's right, retired. I don't want to hear about the cop who stopped you today or how you didn't think you should get a ticket. That just makes me grumpy!

vmwerks, could you describe the woman that was the problem? I am there regularly and I think I know who you are talking about. There are 2 young ladies there that can be a problem. One is a short thin girl with very short dark hair. The other one is about 5'7" with long brown hair and a nice body. This one can be a real problem!!
They have instituted a policy of ppt's to range members only and the owner is aware that this is illegal. I have no idea why he continues this policy. In the future, on the next block over is a small gun store called Afana's. The nicest people in the business!!!!!

It was the tall one... no matter, I'll never step foot in there ever again. When she began to interrupt the other employee and myself I had enough.

If a store jacks around with PPT's in any way, including that appointment only crap, I have a good idea of what they think of their customers. I don't give them another chance, not a customer for anything.

I had actually planned to stop there soon....
