    Stolen Packages

On 1/29 I read a post saying that LWRC had some LPKs in stock. I went straight to the website and order an advanced LPK and some patches. The following day I received an email that my items have shipped. When the package arrives I open it to find that they shipped everything except the LPK. I'm a little annoyed that they didn't send me an email to notify me the item was no longer in stock or delayed, but it's not the end of the world.

A few days later I get another email telling me the remaining items in my order have shipped. I check the tracking number 2 days later while I'm at work and see the package shows as being delivered. When I get home there is nothing on the porch. I check with my two roommates and both of them say that nothing was delivered. Neither of them know what an LPK is and I trust both of them completely. To make matters worse one of them was home during the delivery time and the other one arrived shortly after.

My first response was to call FedEx and file a claim. I also contacted LWRC who also told me to contact FedEx. Since then FedEx says the driver confirmed delivery to my address and that there wasn't a signature required. As far as I can tell my package was stolen off my porch during a very small window of time or it was never delivered. Has anyone else exeperienced anything similar? I imagine any packages with NAME BRANDS on them being large targets for theives. I wrote LWRC back to ask them what recourse I have since FedEx says the package was delivered, but I'm getting the feeling that they are going to tell me I'm SOL.

If either won't work with you, talk to you credit card company who you paid for it with. If neither will help you when you talk to them request a charge back.

Usually they will give you a provisional credit while the investigate.

Cool story bro. It was FedEx.

The way credit card companies work, if LWRC cannot show that it was signed for at your residence, it was not delivered. So LWRC is completely on the hook for this. Now they might not recognize this fact, but your credit card company will.

Try LWRC one more time and simply be honest with them. Let them know that since the item did not arrive and they cannot show signature, they have not followed through. Let them know if they do not send you another, it isn't the end of the world, you will just do a charge back.

Then call the credit card company and let them know LWRC failed to deliver the goods and you want to do a chargeback. The credit card company then takes the money right out of LWRCs account unless they prove the item was delivered. LWRC has to fight to try and get their money back and prove you were in the wrong.

That is why my shipping is kind of high, but it is because I default on signature confirmation. The customer must request a waiver to signature confirmation. So if you waive signature and it disappears off your door, then I show them your order comments and that you waived signature confirmation and I get to keep the money in my account and you are out of luck.

My mom ordered some Bose speakers for my brother's Christmas present a few years ago. It came in a white box with "BOSE" on the side, so people knew exactly what they were looking at. UPS delivered the box while my mom was at work, and evidently there were a couple of dudes following the UPS route and picking up anything of interest.

UPS covered the cost of new speakers but now won't deliver to my mom's house. She has to go to the UPS store a couple miles away.

Anyway, I know mine is a cool story (bro)... But I would try to get FedEX to cover this.

At least your story might help the OP out. The other post was pointless. Pointless!

no signature no charge. I didnt get a signature from a customer once. I was going back to their house and figured I would get it after the whole job was done and use that to cover both charges.

long story short... a sub pissed them off, they tossed the whole crew off their property and denied the CC charges. Even though I could prove we did the work stated on the invoice, the CC wouldnt pay up without a signature. I paid nearly a grand to learn that.

This transaction didnt require a signature at the time of sale, since its the interwebs, but 10% gave you some good inside advice on how CCs think.

just an FYI... If I would have just scribbled on the signature line and then lied about them signing I would have gotten all my money from the CCC. The fact I could prove the invoice and a signature would have met the CCC investigation, even if the homeowner denied and could prove it wasnt their true signature. people try to fake their own signature and then try to use that to get outta paying the bill all the time.

oh and UPS delivers to my home every other day without a problem... at least 3 packages a week left on my doorstep.
