That certainly isn't El Centro (which is about 70 miles further East of where you were) and it isn't Mexico either. It is just a small community (if you can call it that) this side of the border. And by the way, from your shooting position, the border is only about 500 more yards to the South.

Jacumba is OK, but I generally don't like shooting with other folks around (unless it is a shooting range). So I usually drive an extra 20 miles into Imperial County and shoot in Ocotillo. Lots of other shooters are scare me with their safety procedures and handling of weapons. Out in Ocotillo, I can pick my only little wash or canyon to shoot in with my group.

Hmm, I didn't pull out my compass, but I could of swore that the direction of the hill most commonly used as a backstop was south? Are you telling me that the dirt road used to travel to each shooting area is south when traveling away from the turn-in off of Highway 80?
