I bought an H&R pump 18.5 inch barrel, its a remmy 870 clone. Ran 55 rounds through it and had 1 stovepipe, cleared it quickly and away i went. I think the gun needs to be broken in and also need to get the feel of pumping it so that it wont jam. I am going to practice with some snap caps. Ive never shot a big boy gun before, only break barrel air rifles. I have a bruise the size of the butt stock on my bicep. I know, wrong placement for a rifle. my last 12 rounds were being shot rapidly, i think the gun was bouncing off of my shoulder. Great times though. Any advice on what i may have done wrong?

Best advice i can give is to pull the shotgun very tight into your shoulder and lean into it, you will absorb recoil much better that way. If you don't do either of those two things i mentioned the shotgun is gonna beat you up way more than it needs to.Comment
