    Noob Questions regarding BG Checks

I purchased my first gun (Shotgun) 11 days ago tomorrow (get to pick it up tomorrow) i read on another site that the DMV, DOJ and the FBI are notified and could possibly deny a purchase during the 10 day waiting period. Is this true. or is the background check done up front. I have already paid for the Shotgun in full. Some insight for a complete rookie would be helpful.

    thanks

The background check is done by the CA-DOJ at any point during the 10 day period. It is not done at the moment of purchase.

Usually the FFL will call you and let you know if you have failed or have been delayed.
But since you are saying 11 days that sounds like Big5 and they might just wait for you to come in..

      Why are you worried?

If you have something in your past you should send away for a Personal Firearms Eligibility check:
Personal Firearms Eligibility Check Program What is a Personal Firearms Eligibility Check? What information is required for a Personal Firearms Eligibility Check (PFEC)? How much does the PFEC cost? How do I find a Notary Public? How long will it take to get the results of my PFEC? What records are checked to determine the results of my PFEC? Under what conditions is someone considered ineligible to possess and/or purchase firearms? Will the PFEC results include information about my criminal history?

Don't call and find out, just go to the store and pick it up.

The recent DOJ delays are not random. They are specifically targeted at people who have unresolved arrests in their past. If you don't have one then you probably don't have anything to be concerned with.

Not true. I have no unresolved arrests in my past and have been delayed for close to 2 weeks now. And nothing that would prohibit me from owning a firearm, in fact my adult record is 100% clean.
