    Anyone remember?

These ads are not current so please do not try to buy anything, only to remember the good old days

These are from a 1959 ad in guns and ammo, when we still had our rights...thnx, ( this is my opinion, not any business or other persons)

Move the decimal place over one numeral to the right and add 10%-20%. Should be about right with modern value. $40 wasn't chicken feed in the late '50s, considering a fancy car cost $3000.

That .22 revolver for $12.95 is an RG pistol, and I wouldn't pay $1 for one today.

Legal mail-order, too. I remember Sears catalogs looking somewhat similar, though IIRC they mostly had .22 revolvers and various rifles, including that Enfield jungle carbine.

I wasn't old enough, by quite a lot, to buy any, even if I had any money - which at that age, I didn't.

Frozen in 2015, it is falling out of date and I can no longer edit the content. But much of it is still good!

Not quite that bad, about 7x according to the consumer price index. So $14-15 in those ads is about equal to $100 today.

I would've snagged up as much of the Colt 1911s as I could've afforded. They're going for at least 20 times the $36 they were asking for then. And imagine having them delivered straight to my door.

+1 on the 1911s...on the other hand who ended up buying these?

Ya guys realize when our kids grow up we're gonna be saying "Remember the good ol' days, when 9mm 100 round packs were $20 dollars and a value pack of .45 only costs us our right nut?"

Those were the good ol' days...

I can remember when BB were a nickel for a 100. Does that make me old?

Yeah a few of them Colts would work for sure.

While that is entirely true, what really hurts me are MY actual memories. I remember riding my bike with my friends and we'd go down to the gunshop and look at all those deals. We'd weave long tales of exactly what we'd buy if we only had the money.

Sadly, when I entered high school most jobs for kids paid less than $2 per hour...
People don't like to be meddled with. We tell them what to do, what to think, don't run, don't walk. We're in their homes and in their heads and we haven't the right. We're meddlesome.

Dang! Those Genuine Mexican Longhorns were more expensive than most of the pistols!

Fun to see that stuff. I have a replica 1902 Sears Roebuck catalog. They sold everything!
Actually I only started collecting Milsurps 3 years ago. I think I might own about 24...They're cheaper than guns that will most likely never get the opportunity to kill somebody...

Tis better to have Trolled & lost, Than to never have Trolled, at all.

My grandmother showed me an old Sears catalog where you could buy rifles and pistols and have them shipped to your door. Thats where she got an old Winchester .22 I inherited.
