    Holster Advice

I, recently, purchased a HK USP 40 full size. My questions to the CG community would be...

What paddle holster would you guys recommend? (Your personal perference.. I just would like to know what others' opinion on the various paddle holsters in the market.)

Blackhawk Serpa. Just don't be an idiot on the draw and you'll be fine.

+1 on the SERPA, their inexpensive and come with multiple mounting options including a paddle setup.

in concurrence with arkangel and xanatos. have a serpa setup for almost all of my pistols. but if you want a good conceal holster, crossbreed is the way to go.

I wouldnt recommend a paddle holster at all.

Is this concealed carry or range plinking?

              Here ya go

I use the Safariland 568 paddle for my 1911 and the 572 paddle for mags. They have them for HK USP 40's also. Just get em from somewhere besides holster.com their very expensive there.

Comp-tac are great paddle holsters. Not real fond of the Serpa. If you want tek-lok look at the BladeTech.

I wouldn't suggest a paddle holster at all either. Look into a safariland 6000 series holster with a belt mount, you won't regret it.

I'll throw in another vote for the Blackhawk Serpa line, for the same reasons the other said. I carried mine daily for a year, beat the hell out of it, and had ZERO issues. I would buy one again in a heartbeat

What's the holster for? I've never liked paddle holsters for every day carry and concealment because for me they don't really mold to the body well and print. However, for a holster say you have for the middle of the night that you want to easily put on I really like them.

Hard to go wrong with the Serpa's and many of the kydex holsters could be used with a paddle or the paddle can be removed. They're reasonable and durable. I prefer leather holsters for EDC because they fit my body type better and are flexible to assist in better concealment.

Go with quality brands and there are a lot of them out there. I've been using Galco's for over a decade and like them. Serpa's for Kydex and nightstand guns. There are a lot of good holsters out there.

Range plinking id get a kydex owb. For concealed carry I prefer comptac mtac, or crossbreed types.

A possibility for wanting a paddle holster is having a belt that's too thick for other mounting methods. I have an Ares gun belt that is so thick very few mounting options work (one of which is paddle). I'm hoping my RCS will work with my belt, but I won't see that holster for quite a few months yet.

Bladetech makes a great paddle holster.
