Am I being screwed on gunbroker?

Just recently won an auction for a rifle on gunbroker with the buy it now function. Sent the money order today and I realized the same exact gun with the same pictures, same description, and same reserve amount is listed again by this seller. He's not an ffl, the only feedback he has is from a purchase he made. It was positive though, but it doesn't look like he's sold anything on gunbroker before. He did give me his phone number in our email conversations regarding the payment process. Am I being paranoid or do I have reason to worry? You have to be really careful these days especially with all the recent craziness going on.

I guess you will find out. I never send money I cannot get back but that is me. I have probably spent $50k online and have only had nothing not show up and only a handful of items which were not as promised. Best of luck.

Yeah, that's what I thought too. Just trying to be careful. This is my first purchase using gunbroker.

It's possible he has two of the same rifle, but if he's using the same pictures that does seem suspect...

I think you should email the seller and ask about it.

Hope it works out for you, I've had good experiences with gunbroker, but I stopped even looking at it with the panic going on!

Sounds like he was smart and cleaned out the gunstore pre-scare.

Probably has 3+ of the same rifle, why bother taking new pics?

Why bother? To me that is being quite deceptive. Esp. if they are close ups. The buyer should know exactly what they are getting.

                give us a link.

I have seen auctions where someone just uses someone else's pics and descriptions - obvious fraud.

Or it could be someone with duplicate weapons.

                How rare is the weapon?

If they are both brand new I think it is fine, but I agree with you if we're dealing with anything other than NIB. OP hasn't given any description though.

Just my .05 cents but the seller's feedback is way too low to be buying a big ticket item like a firearm. I hope it works out for you, 'OP...

The gunbroker rules are personal information after transaction. His billing address and phone number are located in the link of the item you bought. Use that number to contact him and ask if he happen to have 2 rifles for sale. I think you raised legitimate concern and I hope it's going to be a ok. Good luck and keep us posted.

It's a 582 series mini 14 ranch rifle. NIB never fired.

I have bought two guns on gunbroker as is "no returns" and no trouble so far.By buying as is guns you get better prices too.I bought an old west revolver in 44-40 for $320, rather than the usual one thousand or so because i took a risk.As the old man said in the movie "Treasure of the Sierra Madre", "if you don't take a risk you can't make a gain".Truer words were never said.Good luck to you on Gunbroker.
