Just be careful. If you reduce the weight far enough that the sear doesn't have good engagement with the hammer, it'll start to hammer follow.Comment

No restrictions at all for personal firearms except....
If you are LE, or have a CCW many departments have rules against it.
If you're not LE, or dont carry it CCW, go as light as you want (safely). There are many aftermarket target triggers that adjust down to single digit ounces for bolt action rifles.

Note I did mention lightening it *SAFELY*....
I remember a few yrs back a guy got in trouble for loaning an AR to someone and it went full auto at the range due to malfuction... but they tried to bust the guy for having an illegal full auto.
