Traders Sports under ATF investigation

Hmm.
All I know is I called them a couple weeks ago about if they were still running ads in the Mercury news. Answer I got was "Nope, we're taking a break from all advertising for awhile." I found it weird that a company would stop advertising. I mean, is business ever that good?Disenfranchised NRA Benefactor Life Member.

Trader's license is gone June 1. They're appealing and claiming ATF harrassment.
The story could have done without the tired old interview with the anti-gun old lady whining about gun violence and blaming Trader's."There are no outdoor sports as graceful as throwing stones at a dictatorship." Ai WeiWeiComment

From what I have seen, Traders has been under fire for years.Comment

No Advertising?
Dang....
Sarcasism hat on....
I wanted one of those Cannon safes that were on sale since Feb 1st.....
Sarcasism hat off....
I thought something was up when they stopped updating their ads.
Oh well, another option of buying guns might be drying up in the Bay area.

Complain as you will, but the fact is there is one less gunstore in norcal now. Anyone have any more details on what happened? Too many guns used in crimes get traced back to them? Or did they discriminate by not selling to "gangstas?"Comment

The news story said bad or no paperwork on 1700+ guns. The whining anti-gun old lady said something about guns sold by Trader's being recovered at crime scenes and on perps. Another case of the gun store being bad because something they sold was used by somebody, perhaps not even the original buyer, during a crime."There are no outdoor sports as graceful as throwing stones at a dictatorship." Not that they were ever nice, or polite to me, but I hate to see a gun store go down.
Has the government ever close down a car dealership because too many people in <insert car model here> purchased at said dealership had DUI involved accidents?
I can understand if they aren't keeping the 4473's & related required information, but reall, 1700? that seems like too big a screwup for just about anyone. Since this was covered/broken by the media, I'm skeptical.Disenfranchised NRA Benefactor Life Member.

hmm, that's interesting, I was just there last week and was told by the staff that they had just passed their DOJ audit with no major issues, on I side note It was also mentioned that Iggy had been there.............Originally posted by saigon1965Anyone catch on the news tonight that big Tony C. over at Traders is under investigation by the ATF for not having documentation on aprox 1700 weapons?
1700 guns? I'm curious about what time frame that is? I would kind of doubt that it was over the past couple of years as they have been very anal about double checking all paperwork.
Anyhow, I guess I have to get down there to clear out some of the guns that I've got on order...................

1700 guns? What, did they forget to do paperwork for a whole freakin' year?
Sounds fishy...

Mostly just gigo errors inputting into their recordsystem than anything else.
This is old news though. There have been rumors that they were going out of business for the last two years for various reasons, mostly from the son of the owner no less.Comment
