I'm looking to sell my 5.56/.223 and AR platform.

Gunbroker looks like the best place to find the widest audience but I don't want to commit any felonies in the process.

I know the rifle needs to go to an FFL. But what about selling ammo out of state? Are there any states I should just not do business with?

Not sure on the selling of ammo; I just signed up a few days ago and just completed my first purchase (ammo) off of GB, but it seemed a lot of private sellers had wording along the lines of "By bidding, you are saying that you are allowed to purchase this ammunition and are of age and no denying/limiting legal conditions." I purchased from a store's GB account and they had wording like that, almost all of the ammo auctions did.

The most important thing to know is that you must only ship guns to a licensed dealer. If the buyer is not a licensed dealer, he will have to make arrangements to ship the item to a dealer in his state.

Before you ship a gun, the buyer must fax or mail you a copy of the dealer's signed FFL license. You can only ship the gun to the address on the license. You must inform the carrier that the package contains a firearm. Of course, the firearm cannot be shipped loaded; ammunition may not be shipped in the same box. You should take the copy of the signed FFL with you when you take the item to be shipped in case the shipper wishes to see it.

As far as the Ammo I would treat it as a firearm and request that it only be sent to a FFL because there's differnt laws not just per county but city as well. Unless you want to take the time and do the research of customers location. Also only shipping to a FFL will also cover you from selling to a minor.
