So I've been thinking of getting into YouTube videos, and made a handgun caliber comparison video. Since this is my first attempt at really trying to make a good gun video, I'm interested in criticism to make it better and more entertaining.

People like real science stuff.
1) Buy some drywall. Make a box 6 feet long two feet wide 2 feet high. One side the side you are shooting have two pieces of drywall 6 inches apart to simulate a wall. Use isolation between. Fill it with clear jello. Shoot it and see what the fragments do.
Use jello, not ballistics gel because you dont want to see what the fragments do in muscle, you want to see what they do with little resistance.
2) Buy a rack of beef or pork ribs. Sandwich boneless chicken breast inside the ribs, then place them in a tee-shirt and a coat... see what does what at what range.
have a BBQ afterwards (I was proven wrong this way. I said the 7.62x39 ball did far more damage at 100 yards then 5.56x45 ball... I was very very wrong and ended up paying for the whole BBQ).Comment

That sounds like fun. And tasty.People like real science stuff.

Just make sure you remove fragments before eating. Cousin once ate a mouthful of turkey with steel shot still in it..... Fresh from the oven...On the Second Amendment:

Can you make money from ads or something? So I've been thinking of getting into YouTube videos
It is not aNice table full of guns, which could be replicated within 30 minutes anywhere in the state.a caliber comparison vid
Nice to see the younger members make an effort.*REMOVE THIS PART BEFORE POSTING*Comment

Yes you can make money on ads, but you need to get a high number of views for it to be anything substantial.Comment

I like the pace of the vid and the metal music helps that also. i reccomend the suggestions above about replicating materials most likely to be shot like walls, meat and car doors. also, try and find some different length barrels using the same calibers to differentiate between fps and penetration. get a chronoComment

looks like alot of time and effort went into the video. Great job. Maybe a longer freeze frame of caliber next time with a chrono and balistic gel penetration numbers would make this a perfect video for bullet comparison. Lastly make sure the shot placements are consistant, I see in your video that alot of shots were placed either low or high left. Once again, good job on video.sigpic

I really liked it I thought it was cool and different ,fast paced and hard hitting but maybe some a ballistic clay or gelatin might have been a little bit more informative, but because I've seen the informational ones like the first and probably 1 of the best called "deadly weapons" (and that 1 was made in the eighties) so you know that type it's been over done and they can get a little dry and boring.so keep making them. this 1 was more like entertainment, gun iCandy , blowing up melons, and lots of nice weapons. I dug that part as well. some things I'd like to see would be clay blocks shot and then cut in to reveal the potential wound channel/ bullet destruction of the clay. I think you can get clay cheap from a Potter and it is reusable. I also would like you to try shooting coconuts to see the results. Something I can't do at the range.Comment
