Went to Turners in Rancho Cucamonga around 3pm Sunday, saw a guy buying a Bushmaster for around $900 I was like 
!!! Not at the price but the fact that they STILL have a Bushmaster for sale! Then another guy was playing with a COLT w/ Scope tagged for $2300 (the guy at the counter said the scope itself is around 1K)
It turned out that the Bushmaster was on layaway, the buyer was picking it up that morning. He found out they had EIGHT Colt AR's (all different model and scope combo) just came in to the store. He immediately give up the Bushmaster and went for the Colt. Not sure how much deeper he had to reach into his pocket, but I think that's a smart move on his part.
By the time I got to the store only 1 Colt left and I am sure it's gone by the end of the day. A couple guys was asking the lady at cash register if they are taking order for lowers. She said yes, and when they asked how long is the wait she just laughed. The guys told her they just want to see her reaction, and said they placed orders at four different places.
I am just glad I don't have to suffer from panic buying.
