    Big 5

Has Big 5 gone the way of the dinosaur on firearms? I notice their ads haven't contained much in the way of rifle/shotgun sales of late.

One more reason to visit a real gun store and not an athletic sporting goods store.

Mostly. Some shotguns and some .22 rifles left, but the rifles aren't in the racks anymore. Need to ask to see them. Find a local gun shop you like and give them the business.

No point in having sales if people are willing to pay full price or higher. No point in advetisting when everyone's going nuts.

I bought a Marlin 795 there for pretty cheap a couple of years back. Other than that they've always had the cheap Mosins. Used to have the Marlin lever actions for good prices too.

I've never been much of one to buy from Big 5, most of their stuff seems to be cheap name brand knock offs from China, however, I do enjoy looking at the ads when they come out.

Big 5 in rancho cordova carries a good selection of shotguns, 22 rifles, your variety of hunting and sporting rifles, and one or two AR15s. Since December, however, their stock has been really low and you'll be lucky to be able to even get your hands on a 10/22. whether strictly a sporting arms store or not, I've always liked Big 5 and they've always had what I was looking for (mosin nagant 91/30, mini 14, 10/22, mossberg 500).

Wow, that's pretty stupid. If you can't browse rifles on the racks, how are you supposed to know what they have in stock? Sometimes I like going to other stores just to browse.

The stock isnt there. Why waste advertising space with a product that might not be there that week? I was looking for a takedown model 10/22 the other day. I was told they were sold out in the district and that no rain checks were being taken for them.

All the gun shops in my area are pretty snooty about browsing and asking questions, they're probably tired of ghetto lame asses passing through, but why should I have to suffer for that? Most the salespersons at big 5 are younger and more helpful. They do stock the cheap basic stuff but that's where my budget lies right now anyway, I noticed the ad this morning too but it'll come back in a few months when the panic dies down.

They're not hiding the guns - they've been sold, nothing to put out.

i went to one where the inventory was listed on a piece of paper with pictures. He said if you want to see one, just ask. They have officially pulled ARs out of inventory.

                          same same

The big 5s in my area have not changed anything. Both weapons an ammo are being sold as normal.
