I'm pretty sure I was just baited by a 3 letter agency regarding the sale of a firearm I have on calguns.

First pm was asking specific questions about the gun, which demonstrates to me they have some knowledge of the firearm. The next pm was...."I am unfamiliar with the transfer of a weapon such as this". Seemed odd from someone who knows the gun pretty good.

Once I explained the PPT process, I never heard back again.

After looking into the profile of the member who sent the message (ttorsion) they have been a member of calguns since 10/18/11 and has never put up a single post. Doesn't seem like someone would join a forum for that amount of time and never post anything once?? More like a DOJ just watching the threads.

Just a friendly reminder that we are being watched and possibly baited into illegal activities. PPT all gun sales folks! No exceptions!

Better yet, bait them back and then report the transaction location to your location law enforcement agency. Then they can go meet up and feel like idiots. This is not how you enforce the laws we currently have on the books. If they want to play games, make them waste their own time, not yours.

No surprise! Just as Fish & Game are on fishing websites. If I'm legal, & I am, I don't give a sheet. I was selling ammo on the 'net & got a random weird reply, asking about buying "firearms" VERY random e-mail. I told the person "You sound like 5-0" they got all strange. I guess there's a sucker born every minute, I'm not one of them. I'm NOT Timid either!

Yea, probably more likely a legislative aid. The weeds are thick with trolls as of late. The anti's really and truly do seem to fail to grasp what a law abiding bunch gun owners are.

Had a C&R rifle on the FS section recently. Guy emailed me about buying it with a FTF. When I told him I needed either a C&R license or a copy of his DL and a written and signed statement that he is legally able to purchase a C&R long arm he got weird and wouldn't agree to it, just kept emailing me that he had bought lots of guns before without a problem. I passed on the sale. If you get a bad feeling about it, pass!

The police follow Californians from Reno/Vegas gun shows, why wouldn't they try to entice ignorant gun owners into committing violations?

i'm just wondering. lets say you go along with the bait tactics. then setup a time to meet. if you just never show up or show up but pretend to not be the seller, then waste their time and get a chance to see if it really is 5-0 or some really stupid thug?
