What to do with ammo boxes?

Sums up my thoughts on the situation perfectly. Removing your name and address and dispose of these in the most careful method you can is of the utmost importance.Yeah, it's best to be discreet these days. I had to ponder the same thing the other month. I usually just keep ammo in the boxes it came in and then seal the boxes up in an ammo can. But a batch of .22 I recently ordered came in bulk packs that didn't fit neatly into my ammo cans, so I lined the can with a cut-to-size paper bag and dumped the ammo in.
This left me with a bunch of small ammo boxes to break down plus the big cardboard box that it all came in which was clearly labelled "Small Arms Munitions" (with my name and address.)
Solution was to de-label the big box and toss it in a dumpster in a quiet business park. I got rid of the the small boxes by going for a walk in the neighborhood the night before trash day...a few tossed in this can, a few tossed in that can and viola - all gone.Comment

Leave the ammo in the boxes and put the boxes in ammo cans. If you just dump it all in there and there is a recall later you won't even know if your ammo is from one of those batches and you'll have no way to exchange it. Not to mention you have a risk of damaging the rounds if you just dump them in a can. Reason I ask is that if OP is responsible to have guns and buying/storing Ammo, he should have the common sense how to solve this problem on his own without asking on a open forum, geez
