    In 2007, I saw a box of 45LC with a 1918 headstamp being used. I've also, shot some 1917 30-06 without a problem.

I've shot 100y/o ammo before. Went bang.

I've shot using powder stolen from the british by revolutionary leader George Washington himself. The wadding was from a Betsy Ross fabric scrap pile and the lead ball was a transformed sinker of Izaak Walton's. Flint cut from Stonehenge. It was one historic load blowing.

Only one of those two is true.

I've fired about 100 rds of 8x56R dated 1938. So far, went bang every time.
"Did I say "republic?" By God, yes, I said "republic!" Long live the glorious republic of the United States of America. Damn democracy. It is a fraudulent term used, often by ignorant persons but no less often by intellectual fakers, to describe an infamous mixture of socialism, miscegenation, graft, confiscation of property and denial of personal rights to individuals whose virtuous principles make them offensive." - Westbrook Pegler
