A classic argument for gun control now seems to be that there have been over 900 gun deaths since the tragedy at Sandy Hook. I'm not sure how many of those are suicides, but regardless, I would like to know how many gun deaths happened in 2012 BEFORE the tragedy at Sandy Hook. I ask because I want to point out the hypocrisy of the anti-gun crowd. That (likely) thousands of people died and yet they remained silent until they found a better soap box to stand on. Does anyone know if those stats have been published yet? Obviously whether or not the argument would be valid depends in the numbers. If it's low, I wouldn't want to make the argument.
