I have some warranty work I need done on a 1911. Just got off the phone with the CS rep. According to her, they're so busy right now they aren't even opening emails or faxes. Leave a message and they'll call you back.

In the past when I have used them, their customer service has been good and efficient. Their technician's ability to repair problems, however, has been pathetic, as are their parts. One time I sent back my M1A SOCOM back to get a replacement bolt, and the replacement itself was defective so I had to send it back again... I eventually gave up because the rifle would always start jamming or literally tearing itself apart (parts going flying/pulled out of place) every time I went back out to shoot it. Sure they "fix" it for free under warranty, problem is it never actually gets fixed. A friend of mine had the same problem with a standard M1A he bought around the same time-frame, about 5-10 years ago.Comment

I never considered that this crazy gun buying/2nd threat era we are in right now would affect repairs and general customer service. Another sign of the times. I guess it makes sense.
It would be interesting to hear from someone who works in the firearms or ammo manufacturing industries to tell what its like to work there right now.NRA & CRPA member
