CenturyLink, where not even cops can carry

SEATTLE -- Company officials say the decision to ban firearms at CenturyLink Field is a safety issue, but the move has touched a nerve with many local law enforcement agents.

CenturyLink management has decided that off-duty officers going to events at CenturyLink as fans can no longer bring guns through the gates.

I don't see a problem with that. Private business can make their own rules. Also if the police are held to the same restrictions as the rest of us they may tell their unions not to back certain laws.

It's only ok to have rights taken away when it's the OTHER GUY's rights who are being taken away.

It suddenly starts to suck when you realize YOU are not the "other guy".

To the LEOs I say "WAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHH" what a bunch of whiners!

That computer you infected with a virus at work, or that window install you screwed up, or that over priced whatever you sold etc, etc. most likely don't wont payback against you or your family.
That felon that that cop got locked up for 5 to 7 years likes football and beer too. And he would love some payback.

So you're saying a private citizen can't have enemies? A stalker, or crazy ex who they have a restraining order against?

This fear that ex-cons etc. will come back to haunt police, prosecutors, judges etc. is often used to justify allowing them CCW's and other privileges like the Law Enforcement Officer's Safety Act LEOSA that grants retired LEO's a nationwide CCW under certain conditions.

However, I would love to see a study of how prevalent this actually is. I bet the likelihood of an ex-con etc. coming back to harm a LEO, prosecutor, judge is vanishingly small. They are, statistically speaking, no more likely to be the victims of retribution attacks than anybody else. If this was a real problem, and not just an excuse to claim special privileges, I am sure Police Unions would have plenty of statistics to prove me wrong.

Law abiding citizens don't like to have thier rights infringed upon huh? You don't say? Welcome to the other class you elitist. Kinda sucks when laws, or in this case actions are taken against you without your input.

Sure they can and I'm not against them being armed at the game either. But to ask cops to take all the garbage out, but please don't wash your hands in our restroom is a slap in the face. Most will Carry anyway, they don't do a vary good job checking for weapons, criminals get them in, at least at Bay Area ball games.

Staples Center is also a gun free zone

If you are not in uniform, they assume you will get drunk and shoot the refs for bad calls......

So no Armed CHL or off duty LEO for the Lakers, Clippers, Kings, Concerts

I guess fans rioting and flipping cars is better PR than a person shooting rioters trying to flip their car.

And we all know just how safe those gun free zones are.

No need to worry... uniformed police are there to protect them. He just has to wait 15 mins for them to run across the stadium! LOL

                              Google "cops killed for revenge".
I'd rather have it and not need it than to need it and not have it.
