    Anyone dealt with "Bulletproofme.com"??

    Hey yall...

    1) Has anyone ever dealt with
http://www.bulletproofme.com/Bullet_..._Catalog.shtml on their police surplus vests ($100-150 trade in level IIIA I believe...see linky

They have surplus good condition II and IIIA (and higher) stuff for as low as $100-125 for smaller sizes.

They also offer rear panels from vests that have been shot in the FRONT panel (meanin the rear is still 100% A-OK) for $25.00

I was thinking it would be a cheap way to add some kevlar to an assault vest by buying (2) of the $25.00 rear-vest parts and sticking them in the plate carrier pouches of my TAPCO vests.... figure it couldn't hurt.

I also thought it would be nice to sew a couple inside a windbreaker for "low key" protection....

    2) IS it legal for ANYONE in CA (except a Felon) to own body armor?? I have a friend who insists that ALL forms of armor/kevlar are verboten for civvies since the mess in NoHo at the Bank Shootout....
The way I understand it, anyone except a Felon can have armor (and even they can in the course of a job if they someone needed it for their job use)....

    Anyone?? Anyone??? Bueller?

So am I crazy *besides normal* to think its a good deal to get $150 surplus vests for "better than nothing" protection....

Click HERE for test pics and $25 samples

I thought, "Damn, If I spent $250 I could get TEN of those "good" back panels... (4) for my assault vest plate carriers and still 6 left for a jacket or something else cool..."

Then I thought, spend $2000 and put kevlar all inside my doors of my car for when Waingro comes to get me LOL.... But serious... anyone else think $25 samples are worth dinking with???

These samples look like something to bring to the Area 52 shoot.
