    Out of state buying

I'm going to be attending the Reno gun show at the end of the month. I know I can't buy handguns or "assault weapons" and bring them back to CA with me. What about rimfire rifles and shotguns though?

You can buy them in another state. The seller then sends them to CA FFL dealer. You process DROS and pay transfer fee with the CA FFL dealer. 10 days later you pick them up.

      Thanks.

I'm assuming I can buy and carry ammo home right?

        Yes. Any non-firearm = buy & carry.
