2013 SHOT Show

It's late and just winding down. First time at SHOT Show and I must say it was way more than expected. All of the people and exhibitors encountered have been amazing. It does my heart good to see such a turn out. Made an excellent stop at Faxon Firearms. These guys are there for us consumers. Can't say enough about the way they interacted with their potential customers. I will try to update as time allows!

Sorry I never got back to this thread. I spent a couple days at SHOT and the amount of things to see were staggering. After going through most everything I still have to say the Faxon ARAK-21 was the most interesting and really stood out in a sea of black rifles. I can't wait to get one in my hands and shoot it. Atleast there are a ton of videos on youtube of the show. So enough of my dribble!

One of my buddies who owns a range, just got back as well. Said that there wasn't any ammo left and manufacturers weren't taking orders for at least 18 months. Did you see the same?

By the way, heard the porn convention is there now. Did you stick around

Everyones lead times were out super long. We didn't talk to anyone at Stag Arms but heard they were 24 months out. Most vendors were out like 6 to 12 months. I would have loved to stay for the AVN convention, but time and money were used up!

SHOT Show wasn't all that, this year, in my opinion. Standard fare as last year with just a few new things.

As far as AEE/AVN, if you're really into adult entertainment it's worth going. I ended up not going to the actual AEE convention since the few friends I have working the show couldn't get me a free pass. So I passed on that since I didn't feel like paying to get in for a couple hours.

Quite a few of the adult industry companies sponsor club parties, so you can always do those after dark. Or if you know at least one person in the business, you can just do the private parties, which is what I ended up doing. That said, I went to a company party that was in the Penthouse suite of the HRH Tower of the Hard Rock. That suite is awesome. 4000+ sq. ft with an indoor and outdoor hottub.

i agree... not much new at SHOT from arms makers. figure 2-6 weapons. other mfg's like knife companies and gear folks able to do more. still able to knock out SHOT in 1.5 days.

Haha. Most of the time I just ignored the party nudity because it's weird to ogle girls you're actually friends with. Plus, the girls I were with can't have their pics taken (naked) even with camera phones because of contracts with their respective production companies.

Same here. I had planned to do 2.5 days at SHOT and only did about half days on Tue and Wed, and a quick stop on Thu on the way out to pick up extra literature for some friends.
