Mounting a light to a Remington 870

Where's the best place to mount a light on a Remington 870?

Handguard is a Magpul and I DON'T want to change it to a Surefire handguard with integrated light.

The options I have are:

Option 1 - SMC slot-n-mount which attaches to the magpul shotgun handguard, holes are the same size as the ones in the magpul moe AR-15 handguard.
Cons: I don't want the light to move around with the shell cycling as I shoot.

Option 2 - Buy the mount that replaces the barrel/mag tube clamp. In addition to being a clamp it also acts as a light mount.
Cons: Heat from shotgun messes with light?

I always shoot during daylight hours therefore I never need a light. Sleep in and go to the range a little later in the morning after the sun comes up and save yourself a few bucks on that cool tactical stuff,! Jk- surefire is nice

I'm not asking for the most tactical or the coolest look. I have a valid question, I'm concerned that if I mount it to the clamp which is attached to the barrel, it could potentially heat up fast and damage the light.

What's the role of your shotgun?

Are there any clamps that attach directly to the barrel? I have a 500 with a heatshield and the clamps for the 500 aren't able to be attached with a heatshield.

I have a clamp-on light on my HD shotgun. My light has a touch pad that's glued to the forend. I've used the light at the range to see if there would be any issues from blast or heat. - nope, worked fine.
