I screwed up, AR Pistol help

First I'd like to say hey to everyone, I'm a virgin poster and a long time lurker of this great site.

Immediately after the Sandy Hook incident I realized that gun control nuts would use this tragedy as a jumping board to reignite their gun control agenda so I thought it prudent to at least get another AR before any ban. I already built an AR 15 so I thought it would be cool to have an AR Pistol. I didn't have the money to buy an AR Pistol out right so I figured I'd build one. So I started to read up on how to build the pistol and began buying (over priced) parts as I could get them. Unfortunately, now that I have most of the parts I now know that you can't legally build an AR in CA from a new, never used lower. However, I was told that you can legally build an AR Pistol from an 80% lower receiver.

TBH, I'm clueless with respect to what I need to get to make a lower from an 80% receiver, nor do I have the skills and equipment to build this thing. Is there someone out there that can help me with this?

    Thanks for your help,
    Sketti

P.S. Admin plz forgive me if I put this thread in the wrong area.

Get a jig, micrometer, and drill press or find someone with a mill and buy him beer... Then remove the extra aluminum. Boom your done.

Laws that forbid the carrying of arms... disarm only those who are neither inclined nor determined to commit crimes... Been gone too long. It's been 15 to 20 years since i had to shelf my guns. Those early years sucked.
I really miss the good old Pomona Gun Shows.

I did a search before posting and didn't find what I was looking for. Any advise on what I should search for for a NorCal "build party"? Just FYI, "NorCal build party" doesn't work. What section of the site are they usually posted in?

              Thanks for your help
