    selling my lower rec.

I have a gb acct. Never sold anything on there.
Im looking to sell my spikes stripped lower rec.
What is the best way to check if the ffl is legit and make sure i get a copy that the lower has been transfered and my name taken off.
    Thanks.

Was it registered to you as a pistol lower? If not it is not in your name.

The only place its in your name is on the paper copy of the 4473 in the FFL's records where you DROSed it, and that will stay in that record form for 20yrs, regardless of what you do with it.

I just get a copy of the FFL's license, if the PoPo was to ever come knocking is show em that and say it was transfers to? by this FFL.

I don't think it was registered as a pistol lower.
I never intended to use it as a ar pistol

Rifles in Californistan are not registered in anyones name. The serial number is unknown to the CDOJ and that 10 day waiting period you had was to check you out and let you cool down..... No records exist at the CDOJ about the make, model and serial number of your LOWER.

This will change in Jan. 2014 when the CDOJ starts recording this information. Rifles and long guns will be registered at that time. (new DROS, nothing from before that time).

When selling the LOWER just be sure it transfers thru an FFL, either here in California or any other State. This is required for out of State transfers as well. (and in California).

As a side note, if you lived in a Free State like Arizona, you could meet the buyer in the parking lot at McDonalds, sell the Lower or handgun, shake hands and go-on-about your business. Caifornia is not like that. FFL required.

Fewer people are killed with all rifles each year (323 in 2011) than with shotguns (356), hammers and clubs (496), and hands and feet (728).

it would be easier to post it for sale in the marketplace here. just try and sell local to your area. it would be much easier unless your trying to get the most out of what you have.
Been gone too long. It's been 15 to 20 years since i had to shelf my guns. Those early years sucked.

            toss it on GB
The buyer will contact a FFL
You call the FFL and confirm they will accept it from you and dont require another FFL to ship.
You ask the FFL for their lic# and check them out FFL EZID
You ship the lower to them with a copy of your DL
if CA buyer, wait 10 days before spending the money just incase they fail DROS, cuz you will need to pay the FFL to ship it back to you.

that is true unless you are trying to get market pricing without being called a gouger. With an auction, it will go for what the market will bear without the OP having to set a price that will either be too low and snapped up by the first hoarder or too high and sit for weeks, all the time being called a gouger.

Do you want an AOW or C&R SBS/SBR in CA?

In CA: So if your buddy gave you a longgun, then there is technically nothing on paper that say's you weren't the lawful owner to begin with or went through the proper channels (FFL) for getting it? Therefore, you can keep it...?
