    Out of state rifle

I tried the search function and couldn't find squat. Is it ok to purchase a semi-automatic rifle over the internet from out of state? I know for pistols they have to be on the list but are there any rules/regs concerning rifles?

Edit: I'm not talking about AR/AK stuff. More like the old wood stocked carbines in 44 magnum.

    It's too late, it's over.

So long as they go directly to a CA FFL, there should be no problem with those. No 'assault weapon' issues, not full auto, not 'any other weapon'.

Frozen in 2015, it is falling out of date and I can no longer edit the content. But much of it is still good!
