Never done one before but let's say I decided to buy a gun from someone on this forum and we met at an FFL, give them the cash, do the paperwork for the transfer and then a few days in to your 10 day, something comes back negative either about the gun or the seller. Are you then not able to get it? Are you out the money for the sale and the DROS fees?

If something was wrong with the gun, ie. stolen, reported lost... DOJ would contact the FFL not to release and then LEO would probably pick it up. If the seller is prohibited, i dont think it would make a difference as long as you are GTG. -

Yea, I would be far more concerned about the $1500-$2k I dropped on the AR then the $35 fees. I am very hesitant because nearly everyone selling an AR on this forum has a join date within the last month or so and their only posts are trying to sell their gun. They could take my money and disappear from the site and I would be screwed. Sucks.Comment

Not sure the seller information would be a deal breaker unless the gun comes back stolen. Then you would be out the $$$. DROS is non refundable. It would be important to get the seller information and contact numbers. If they are legit - then it should not be an issue. That way, if there is a problem, you can take recourse from the seller.*********************
