I bet Nebraska's version of Calguns (Nebguns) has a much smaller for sale section. I just bought something from a Calgunner last night and I'm in AZ. AZshooting.com has 1/20 as many items up for sale compared to CGN so if it does not require and FFL and is a good deal I buy here.sigpic

Had it happen as well...more than once. They way I look at this board/process is only a rung or two above buying from CL (especially for newer members or low iTrader rating) and I don't mean that in a bashing sense, I just mean it doesn't happen until it happens so from my perspective, until we're both at the FFL/LGS trading $/goods, anything can (and sometimes does) happen. With how crazy everything is priced right now, availability and the threat/promise of legislation/executive order(s), nothing should surprise anyone.Comment

There is a way, it's called iTrader. Use it. Neutral feedback can be given to document the characted of the individual.
Also, everyone does not get 100% feedback. I've had members here contact me within the last month who had less than 100% iTrader feedback. When I see that, I read it and I am generally more hesitant/careful if I move forward with that deal.Comment

Same as you, I have been burned by flake buyers that wasted my time and made me pass up opportunities to make a sale. Nowadays my philosophy with selling is that it isn't sold until I have cash in hand, and if someone else can meet with me now versus wait until you can make time to come meet with me and possibly change your mind in the mean time, I am probably going to be selling to the guy that can meet with me now. If you really wanted it that badly you would have made yourself available sooner. I had it happen to me with some ammo. I said "I will take it" and he said "Okay, i will get back to you with a time to meet up" Then later he just sent me a message that he sold it.
I sent him a PM saying it was poor business, and he said he did not agree. He felt that since we had not yet set a meeting time, he could do what he wanted.
It was wrong, but I just let it go.Comment

Try to get somebody that is selling a used car, a house, hockey tickets, etc... to hold it on reserve it for you on nothing more than a verbal (or email) "I'll take it"

Ive just dealt with sooo many tirekickers online and in person. If someone sends me an email saying get your *** to the gun store im buying your gun right now...well im going. Because the person online can always back out.just happy to be here. I like talking about better ways to protect ourselves.

its not sold till its sold. this is my biggest pet peeve about selling on calguns. its not your right to buy something and the sale isnt final unless you paid for it AND you received the item. sellers are free to sell to whoever they wish for whatever reason suits them.
im sick of people lowballing me, then demanding i pay shipping or deliver FTF in their area on my gas dime, then posting SPF on my thread as if thats going to make me sell to them, and then throwing a hissy fit when someone local is willing to pay the asking price and i decide to sell to them instead.
according to calguns marketplace rules there are only 2 legitimate reasons to give someone a negative itrader:
17) iTrader ratings.

had something similar happen with a dirtbike; me in fresno, seller in napa, talked to him on the phone on friday, said it looked good, and i was renting a truck to come up on saturday and as long as it was as advertised, i'd take it at asking price.
pick up the truck and drive all the way up to napa, call him for directions, and he tells me "sorry, i just sold it".
