You should also be aware that we intend to add it to the DOJ Assault Weapon Identification Guide, at which time it would be classified as an assault weapon.

I'm really getting tired of that nonsense...why must they continue to say that? -
This one was definitely better than the last one. The added building helped it not seem so crowded and confined. I scored on a lot of stuff. I got my Kahr too!
And I beat the loony prices at Turners by over $100.
My CWS Group Buy shirt got a LOT of reactions; more than I would have expected.Comment

Here is the letter in its entirety that I got from the CA DOJ and that I provided a copy of to "Al B." and Darrin "Prince 50" at the Hunters Creek/Anza Knives table at the gun show. I asked them to please black out my name and address on the letter if they were going to give out copies of it or display it.

Dear Mr. XXXXXX
This is in response to your e-mail letter, dated 3-6-06, regarding the legality of Eagle Arms AR-10
The Eagle Arms AR-10 is not listed as a Category one assault rifle in the California Penal Code (PC) sections 12276, and is not yet a Category Two assault rifle. Although technically the receiver is legal to purchase and possess in California at this time (assuming it does not have the characteristics listed in Penal Code section 12276.1(a)(2) or (a)(3), you should be aware that the Eagle Arms AR-10 lower receiver is virtually identical to rifles that are now illegal assault weapon. You should also be aware that we intend to add it to the DOJ Assault Weapon Identification Guide, at which time it would be classified as an assault weapon.
Also, please realize that this opinion is not conclusive about the legality of the firearm. A local prosecutor in one of California's 58 counties could view this situation differently.
Sincerely,

So,........there you go! Also, if you look at the AW list of banned rifles, they list "Armalite" and "Eagle Arms" as seperate manufacturers or "Make", and then list the rifle models respectively under each make/manufacturer name. Eagle Arms is a seperate division of Armalite, and the CA DOJ treats it as such on the AW list!
SO,.................................if you want to get one of these Eagle Arms AR-10 stripped lower receivers (and all the other parts/upper assemblies for build-ups) before the loophole closes, then you'd better contact "Al B." or Darrin (Prince 50) ASAP!!!!!!!!!! They are in the Westminster, CA area in So. CA, and they will be at the Costa Mesa gunshow all day Sunday/26th to sign you up and do your DROS. I'd post Al B.'s home phone/cell/e-mail but I'm not sure if it's okay with him. I'l call him in the AM and see if it's okay with him and will post it here if it's okay.

Great news! Would be possible if you scan your letter or take a picture of it?
Please!Comment

This is a good point. Also, if the letter is true than the Wilson Tactical lowers the DOJ confiscated is illegally held by them. Someone should follow up on that matter due to this letter. Just a thought.NRA Life MemberComment

It really sounds like those automatically generated emails. Maybe the DoJ has a fill-in the blanks template to automatically reply to 'lower' inquiries. Let's ask them if the (take your pick from the list) is legal to purchase.Always be in Doubt.Comment

I don't think the AR-10 is the same as the AR/AK series. I'm going to speculate here. Maybe the DOJ is taking so long to list because they want to also name other clones at the same time. And it takes awhile to get their ducks in a row.Comment

I know Al B., he wouldn't sell it if he couldn't. Armalite told M2HBVIC that they wouldn't send it to any dealers unless they were AW dealers. I saw the letter, if you want a AR-10 you better take off your tin foil hats (again) and order one NOW.
While you're at it get the cool little mag release lock that he sells also.

Did this thread get hijacked?
Anyways..Ill bring it back on topic...
The gun show/garage sale was ok, seemed like everything there you could get cheaper and better on the internet. I didnt see any lower recievers, the beer was $7 a cup, and ammo was more expensive than at turners unless you buy like 5000 rounds.
I saw a knife vendor who damn near cut his finger off with a new knife that he said was "sharp". Freaking blood was running down his hand and on his shirt...
Some vendor had a real nice ar-15 with awesome tactical rail and scope, everything was plush. So I started talking to him and it ended up him saying the DOJ is gonna ream me, and hes sorry that i bought a lower reciever etc etc etc...
Free beef jerky samples were great...
Any ways i just bought come rail covers, a few ammo cans, beer, and some full auto airsoft guns (brother in-law is 16 so he convinced me).
Thats my take at least.Comment

HUGE line to get in, even at 10 a.m. very well attended, very crowded.
did not see the skinheads
first time I ever went to a gun show and did not see every table, I bought 7 gun cases earlier than I should have and I got tired of carrying them around, and the wife wanted to go, so I cut it short.
miwall did not have very good deals it seemed. more expensive than walmart for winchester white box 9m and 45. M43 was expensive. saw the usual stuff, I ended up getting 6 ammo cans and 7 gun cases and that was about it.Comment
