Dear Congressman Costa,
I am writing this letter to you in hopes of protecting our constitutional rights under the second amendment. It seems now is the time to address gun control, due to several horrific tragedies that cost innocent lives. I truly feel sorry for the families that have endeared such loss; however, I do not blame guns for causing such horrific massacres.
A drunk driver can control the steering wheel of a 2,000 pound death machine, just as any mentally ill person like Adam Lanza can obtain a weapon and kill innocent people. If criminals cannot obtain an assault weapon, they will use a handgun. Even if all guns are banned, they will make explosives. Humans will always be violent in nature, and criminals will always find a way to kill. This is why assault weapon bans prove pointless.
