Safe Queen maintenance

So, if you have a firearm that you may not plan to use because it is collectible or whatever reason, what should be the maintenance schedule for it? Do you pull it out of the safe and give it a cleaning and lube every 6 months? Year? Assume it is not covered in cosmoline. Hmmm would I be better off getting a bucket of cosmoline for the guns that will not be shot for a while?

Do any lubes or cleaners gunk up over time? Are there lubes and cleaners designed for long term storage?

I would give a light wipe with CLP and buy a silicone gun sock and call it a day. Do you have a heat rod or dehumidifier in your safe?

I have a dan wesson from 1981 or so that has nice bluing. Before real gun socks, I used to keep it in an athletic sock that I used to wipe down other weapons. Light coat of oil, clp or similar, make sure you get the prints off. Look at it and wi9e it maybe once a year. I have lived in the midwest and south carolina, very humid places, no issues yet.
I did replace the striped gym sock with a silicone impregnated sock about 15 years abo.

I usually do a full cleaning on my safe queens at least once a year, and go a bit liberal with the oil when im done. Every so often I pull them out and look for signs of rust and deal with it accordingly

I have silicone socks and a dehumidifier. I just think that I have not taken my MP15 out for a year now and maybe it needs to be cycled or relubed or something.

So do I, I usually take them out at least every couple months and inspect, clean and re-oil as necessary depending on what the average humidity in the safe stays at over any given period of time.
