Coming out from bowling I was getting into my SUV when I heard lots of screaming, I turned to see a young black male pushing an elder woman down and putting a gun to her and took her purse, I immediately shut the door and took after him on foot through the parking lot, careless of him with a gun, he got into his car and took off.
I was angered and was going to check on this woman when my bowling partner pulled up in his car just then, I told him what happen and I got in, we took off and I spotted the guy making a U-Turn, we headed after this guy onto the freeway as I called 911 and we chased over speeds of 100mph, I relayed info to the dispatcher as my buddy drove, they guy got far ahead and I saw him exit the Truxel Road, we took this exit and I saw down the street he pulled into a target parking lot.
we went in and parked a few isles over in the parking lot and saw him get out and change his shirt and walked into target calmly, at that time I went up to the car and gave the dispatch the VIN# and we flagged down the approaching police, talking to that officer some totally different person comes out and opens the trunk, the officer then goes over and talks with him and the guy started to resist arrest, they wrestled and the cop got him into the back of his unit.
At this time we told him that its a different guy, and then so many law units arrived, I counted 15 cars, mixed of City police, county sheriff, Undercover cars, California Highway Patrol, all came out, it was crazy, the original guy then did come out and saw all the police and ran back in, they confirmed him on cameras and he ran over into the Old Navy attached to target, we waited and described what happen to 7 different people, police, CHP, Detectives, Sheriff, and so on, they got the guy in the Old Navy and arrested him, and then they brought out the woman I saw him rob, then they brought out 2 others, me and my buddy ID him and then the victims did.
after it was all coming together these guys live out in the bay area and come up here to do the dirty work, today they started in Folsom and held a guy at gun point, then a woman a bit closer, then the woman I saw. Everyone got their belongings back and they searched the car, finding the gun, that turned out to be a replica pellet pistol. Also funny, the target we chased them to, they tried to use stolen credit cards in the previous night. so the people of target said he had been in before and stole. I met the lady I saw get robbed, and talked with her, she was so upset about loosing her purse and had her medical info cause she has breast cancer, and from being pushed down do hard she had a now bruised and swollen ankle, and her knees scuffed, she got her purse back and wrote out a check, I refused it but she would not let us not take it, so I just let my buddy have it, cause I don't care about money, I met with all the victims and shook hands, they thanked us.
Was awesome, I talked with all the law enforcement, they shook our hands, we laughed and just all talked as we gathered all the info.
I'm glad it all connected and everything came out well.
and I now think... what was I doing chasing a guy on foot who had a gun! lol
