    Guns from Days gone by

What are some of those cheap wonders you remember? Not a Polytech, Not a Norinco..

More like a Llama .22 You bought for 100 dollars, or an Armi.

Trying to compile a list of ''defunct'' gun MFG's, Other than the obvious ones.

So far, All I can really add is Encom, And Demco. Feather Industries maybe? Not sure if they're still in business.

If you owned any of these guns, And have photos, do share. If not, An experience will suffice

I ask because Im also currently waiting on an Encom MP-9 Pistol and Encom MP-45 Rifle. I enjoy collecting the weird, unusual, and uncommon.

It was cheap and it was a wonder!
In 1964 I was working at a south Lake Tahoe casino, a summer job while in college, I found of all things-a hearing aid (the type with the large flesh colored wrap around case that sat over the top of the ear) on the carpet in the slot machine area-turned it in to the lost and found and I thought that was that. A month later one of the cashiers who also ran the L&F came up to me and handed back the hearing aid as unclaimed over the thirty day hold. I admit with a fresh battery it was fun for a while to pass around at parties but one day I stopped by the pawn shop in South Lake Tahoe, saw a three screw .22 Ruger Single-Six complete with the .22 mag cylinder and red felt pouch. Traded the hearing aid along with $15 or $20 bucks and it was mine. Wait period back then was three days.
    Yes, I still have it.

First pistol I ever bought myself was a Star BKS 9mm. It's long gone and I have no pictures, but it came in the cool plastic box like this one:
People don't like to be meddled with. We tell them what to do, what to think, don't run, don't walk. We're in their homes and in their heads and we haven't the right. We're meddlesome.

It was a neat little pistol, very slim and light; easy to carry.
