CC charged and still waiting for gun to ship

Why do some on-line gun dealers let you purchase a weapon (that is supposedly in stock) and the next day you see FFL received, but after than status does not change?

Yeah I know dealers are ultra busy working on orders, but what does it take for a seller to simply send a canned email - "due to heavy order volume, your order may be delayed. Please be aware we are working as quickly as possible and will ship your order in X days"

I placed my order on 12/26 (CC also charged on this day) I finally emailed them (name not disclosed to protect the innocent) and was told they were couple days behind.

I was good enough to provide funds, they should be good enough to ship what they said they would (in a reasonable time)

Ordered an upper from PSA on black friday. Was charged and didn't get it until 12-28-12. If it's a reputable company give it a few weeks. Better to wait and be sure to get it later(within a month) then to pay a couple hundred dollars more I guess.

At this point you've just got to shut up and smile. They need your money less than you need their gun.

happened to me too. I order something from Atlantic on 12/18 and it shipped to my ffl on 1/3 a tiny bit behind schedule. My cc was charged the night I ordered it, but low and behold it came and looks great.

        patience!

Do you guys understand how swamped everyone is? I was just talking to an FFL buddy who still has 2000 orders unprocessed! My wholesaler Acusport still hasn't shipped orders from 12/20 and they usually have everything to me in two days.

The entire industry is completely backed up. The good old days of ordering something and getting it in a couple days are over. Just be patient. Or don't. Either way you aren't going to get your products until they ship them. That is a fact.

Gabriel we do Clearly list on our web site CA orders will take Approx 7 -12 business days to process & ship out so we are very informative of this in at least 4 -5 spots on our web site .We also got hit with the panic wave of orders and the holidays. We do not manually charge cards it is done at the time of the order that way your items is locked down for you .

This space is where more annoyed/unrealistic customers of gun shops are going to sound off.

              Just sayin...

Some folks dont understand that poor planning on their part doesn't constitute a crisis for everyone else.

I guess I could read that two ways.

                  1) I'm hoping you mean it's poor planning on behalf of the buyer waiting till now to order his firearm.

                  2) Hoping you don't mean poor planning by the shops. The gun shops could in no way anticipate the panic rush that is happening now. If they were to plan ahead it would mean running up their stock to unreasonable levels hoping to clear it all having no crystal ball. In other words poor business planning/risk.

                        This!
If you waited until now to buy you're wrong.
Getting mad at swamped vendors because you waited until the word "ban" was mentioned openly by the current regime is not the vendors fault. Barring extenuating circumstances I personally see no need for a vendor to send every buyer an email stating what should be obvious to anybody right now pertaining to OBVIOUS back order and extended shipping times. This is why you buy BEFORE anything bad happens. Granted nobody could predict the CT tragedy but an attempt on EBR's was inevitable eventually during this administration.

What I have done even before this mania is call. And ask if they have it in stock, and if I put in my online order, will it go thru'.
Call during their business hours, not two minutes after opening time, nor two minutes before closing time, and you may have to talk to more than one person.
That way I usually get my order taken care of.
