    You know it's bad when...

...you're perusing the WTS Ammo board, see .223 at $.50/round & think things are starting to settle down.

I've notice prices are crazy but things seem to have already slowed down. Probably too many have already stocked up so the panic is waning. I walked into one gun store yesterday and they had Wolf 7.62 at $6.99/20. That's the only x39 I've seen in days. Expensive 5.56 - about $.75 to $1.00 per round - is all I've seen lately.

I may sell some mags I've got a lot of, haven't decided yet. But, I've got an AK drum I never use -- I should sell that ($200 on gunbroker -- WOW)
People don't like to be meddled with. We tell them what to do, what to think, don't run, don't walk. We're in their homes and in their heads and we haven't the right. We're meddlesome.

.50 a round for FMJ seemed average a few months ago when I was buying. I ended up paying right around .31 a round (including shipping) IIRC. Now noone has any in stock.
It was not a threat. It was an exaggerated response to an uncompromising stance. I was taught never to make a threat unless you are prepared to carry it out and I am not a fan of carrying anything. Even watching other people carrying things makes me uncomfortable. Mainly because of the possibility they may ask me to help.

A 22 caliber round can be as deadly as any round if you are accurate and have a good rifle. if you are hit in the elbow, kneecap, or throat you are as crippled or dead as if you got hit by a fifty caliber even though you are wearing a bulletproof vest and helmet. never underestimate a 22 bullet.

ive seen plenty at $1 a round, people selling a case of PMC for 1K, frikin ridiculous. The one I don't get is people paying $400 for an 80% lower, these things were $80 a month ago, at that price you may as well pay someone to write the code to cnc one from billet.

Not only is 22 cal gone but also 12 gauge bird shot. The 2 Wallymarts I check haven't had bird shot for weeks.

How is 12 guage out of stock? When we had the Obama scare in 2009 12 gauge was everywhere. Nobody wanted it. You also couldn't give away a shotgun or bolt action rifle.

                  +1

Just returned from the Walmart. They only had 20gauge in bulk. They had a lot of .380 ammo as well. No 9. .45 or 223.

this is a result of all the sheeple that voted for the demon-crats, the Nanny state as the savior; instead of complaining, just wait it out or try to work more then save up to exercise your 2A rights

.22LR has always been a catch as catch can at my local Wally's. One day they might have a ton of it, next day maybe nada.

Right now is a time of uncertainty. Nobody knows WTF is gonna happen.

Nobody is underestimating .22lr. They're saying it's ridiculous that it's sold out because the assault weapon ban wouldn't include rimfire so there's no reason to stock up on something that isn't going away any time soon.

I think I would actually buy at .50 cents a round; I haven't been to the range in weeks...
