What would happen to the CMP after a ban?

I bought a Garand from the CMP, partly so I could point to it later and say "I bought this from the US government back when Obama was in power."

But if Feinstein's ban goes through, what would it mean to the CMP?

that is one reason why CMP has raised the limits on sales, they wanted to get as many rifles out the door as possible before the laws changed to stop the sales. The more rifles sold means that their endowment that they have to live on after sales are over will be as large as possible.

Do you want an AOW or C&R SBS/SBR in CA?

Congress gives them the authority to operate so I suppose Congress can take that away as well. As noted above, Orest himself (director of the CMP) said in 2007 he wanted as many M1 Garands in the hands of the public as possible, and as quickly as possible. He said rifles sitting in warehouses do not do him or anyone else any good. The rifles in warehouses don't pay bills, don't help civilian marksmanship, and are vulnerable to the gunhaters cutting torch. The CMP wants you to have these rifles.

BTW, congrats on the M1 Garand!

I don't think any of the proposed bills would affect Garand sales as they do not use a detachable magazine and have no evil features. I'm more concerned about how California's long gun registration that starts next year will affect delivery of Garands to CA. Will it be like New Jersey where they have to go to an FFL and DROS first? I hope they get the Harvesters out before then.

Again, since there is no proposed ban language - hang on, it'll be here in a couple of days - this question cannot be intelligently discussed.
