Buying a Gun that has been Touched

do you hate it when you go to a gun store to buy a brand spanking new gun for hundreds of dollars and they end up giving you the gun that has been fondled by alot of people (the guns you see on the glass counter)? i tell the salesmans to order me a new one from the factory or one that hasnt been touched, and they tell me this everytime, "its a new gun". well, no sh%t, i know its a new gun, but it has been touched and racked by alot of people. its like a "test drive" car.

if i am paying alot of money, i want to be the 1st person to touch it.

    anyone else feel my pain?

It makes no difference to me. I want to buy the gun. Have you ever thought about how many people try on the shoes or clothes you're buying new off the rack? Are you going to tell the store to order you a factory sealed t-shirt?

Nope. It is a gun, not the freaking Hope Diamond.

I always ask for one from the back. If they only have the one though I will take it.

where is the thread where the guy was upset the sales clerk would not allow him to "play" with the $3000 1911... People paying $3,000.00 for a 1911 feel the same as you...and so do I.

Thats why I bought a Glock... doesnt matter if 10,000 played with it... wouldnt hurt it one bit.

Reminds me of when I was 1911 shopping. I was looking for a $1k model, but sales guy handed me one for $3500 and told me to rack it. I told him I didn't even want to cause I didn't want to even smudge it

Next time, tell them you don't like the serial number and ask to see another before you buy it.

OP, if you were paying 3500.00 yes. For a 700 dollar gun I wouldn't worry about it.

If they have another one in stock I'd prefer it. If they don't, be ready for a higher price. If they ordered 5 the first time they'll have gotten a better price than ordering just one.
