Anybody Else Have A Bolt Gun Jones?

With all the drama going on with semi-auto rifles and waiting to see what kind of legislation will be coming our way, I have decided to start squirelling away some funds for a long dreamed of firearm.

A Tactical Operations Delta Series precision rifle.

I have been wanting one for a few years now, and I have dabbled previously and enjoy that type of shooting. I like reloading precision rounds, taking notes, experimenting, and it really saves a lot of ammo.
You know, One shot, one piece of paper.

I presently have a Tikka T3 Tactical which IMO is a nice rig, but I have been lusting for the Tac-Ops long enough to know it is not just a passing fantasy.

Besides, the anti's haven't jumped all over this category (notice I didn't refer to them as sniper rifles) of firearms yet, so it gives me enough time to save, order and recieve it.

I figure by the time all that happens, the grabbers will start carrying on about how these precision deadly weapons have no use in our society and why would anyone need a rifle that is accurate to 800+ yards.

Hopefully, things will have calmed down by then and reloading components will still be reasonable to purchase.

So, what say you? Anyone else dreaming of a new stick?

I've given half a thought to selling off everything except my 1858 Remingtons, just for spite, and picking up a lever action carbine. And maybe one of those BP Howdah pistols in 20 ga that is essentially a sawed-off double-barreled shotgun.

But then I realized if I do that, the domestic terrorists win!
I meant, it is my opinion that...

I was checking out Rem 700s just yesterday. The only thing holding me back is the lack of time. Like you said, LD shooting is more involved. I'm also thinking of "goin' cowboy" with a lever action & SA pistol combo. Basically, just shying away from the EBR thing for a while.

Saving up for a DTA SRS for '13. If I have money left over maybe a lever action rifle.

I am long-gun deficient right now.

My wish list includes the Ruger Scout rifle, and a lever action of some flavor.

Put a Savage 10 precision carbine in jail this morning. Placed a order with brownells and midway to get everything to get it up and running. Now just have to spend the next 10 days making ammo to feed it.

                  I would like a 338Federal in a light weight rifle/carbine.
A 30cal will reach out and touch them. A 50cal will kick their butt.

I went 'cowboy shootin' today with my bp .44s.
                    I'm also long gun lacking.
The bolt action Jones for me takes me back to a single shot bolt action .22 that my grandfather had, that I shot.
So I'm looking for a single shot, bolt action, preferably 30.06 or .308, but it would not mean anything to me without a wood stock.
I understand the wood stocks are rare. Quite hard to find. But that's an essential to me about it.

I'd take a left-handed magazine feed bolt rifle in .223 if anyone made one but it'll never happen unless all semi-auto's are completely banned. A lever action in .38/.357 or even .40S&W would be great. Not all that crazy about what I see currently available in lever-actions right now.

I've been researching and looking for the past few days, I really want something. Been getting frustrated because none of the local shops have what I am looking for and the last few I went to have flat out refused to order any rifles right now. Kind of pissed about that. Last shop I went to was the range I am a member of, flat out refused to even look up a price for me, so instead of making money off of selling me a rifle they will make $20 on the FFL transfer when I order online myself.
