i'm celebrating new year here in vegas and found out that there is a gunshow today at the cashman field center. is it worth going? is it different from the ones held in cali? i hear from the local stores that this show will be a madhouse. comments from people who have seen this would be much appreciated.

I am wondering the same thing, too.NRA Lifer

I've been to that show years ago. Not really worth it, especially now with all the panic buyers. It's about the size of the Cow Palace show. I bet the ammo will be all gone by noon, shoulder-to-shoulder crowded and prices will be high. You might find a good deal here and there but you have to look hard like at most/all gunshows. You'll probably wait n line for an hour just to get in.Comment

I think it would be worth going just to check out the madness. Take a notepad and write down prices, and then report back! Take some pictures too.i'm celebrating new year here in vegas and found out that there is a gunshow today at the cashman field center. is it worth going? is it different from the ones held in cali? i hear from the local stores that this show will be a madhouse. comments from people who have seen this would be much appreciated.Comment

thanks james. i've spent all day yesterday visiting all the local gun stores and the ammo situation here is the same in cali. only " the range" has .223 ammo for sale. magazines are double the usual price."I'm not in this world to live up to your expectations and you're not in this world to live up to mine."

Normally, gun shows in Vegas suck. This one will be a terrible experience but I promised a friend I'd go with him.
The Cashman shows usually pull in about 5k in attendance. It was posted elsewhere that tickets presold were at about 12k last night, so parking will be a pain too.
Since I have to go -- I'm taking a FAL I rarely shoot to see if I can cash in on the panic buying.People don't like to be meddled with. We tell them what to do, what to think, don't run, don't walk. We're in their homes and in their heads and we haven't the right. We're meddlesome.

Don't waste your time. The same ammo vendors here in the cali are the same there. Even LAX range is there selling reloads. Internet prices on everything else is cheaper. Last week bass pro has plenty of pistol ammo. You have to pay for parking also. But its cheaper than gambling for a few hours.Been gone too long. It's been 15 to 20 years since i had to shelf my guns. Those early years sucked.
I really miss the good old Pomona Gun Shows.
